I’ve Been Waiting and It's Finally Arrived ...
After so much work and endless days waiting for my copy to arrive, my mystery novel came today! I knew the special ink I chose and the cream-colored paper would make it easier on the eyes, and the brilliant cover would set the mood, but holding it in my hands was just plain thrilling.
I had many positive comments from those who had received their copy nearly two weeks ago. There seems to be some buzz. Many writers will tell you that they have little objectivity at this point, and the same goes for me. I’m gleeful, while at the same time filled with equal portions of hope and goosebumps. What a rollercoaster ride this past 18-months have been.
I’m content, but drowning in uncertainty. Such a little book. It could get trampled by the hoard of big name mystery novels entering the market weekly. Was it pretentious of me to publish? Maybe not. After all, I have to keep in mind that "Ralph Orloff is a detective like no other” (Doug Thorpe), and that "...This is as much a whydunit as a whodunit” (Ellis Weiner), and it’s definitely "A page-turning investigation of both a homicide and the deepest recesses of the human heart,”(Gloria Levin).
Sound Good? Please read it, and don’t forget to write to me and let me know what you think...
1) Should I retire again, or
2) Do you want to read more Detective Ralph Orloff mysteries?
